Gandhigiri

Forgive me if this seems an abyss. I view it as the rabbit hole to wonderland, a domain to release the joy within. A rebellion is brewing in our massive state steadily! Are we about to witness or even become part of this event that has plucked its identity from the past, when the roots of the British sovereign was eradicated permanently by an effort amalgamated by millions under the leadership of a non-violent force.

It has become evident over the years that the best medium to reach the masses is via visual communication. Irrespective of the occassion, it has performed its duty with gusto and rarely failed to withstand the pressures.

This year began on an refreshing note, Indian cinema produced a drama, which could be called different - Rang De Basanthi (RDB). It inclined it thoughts on a possible revolutionary reform of the here set world by drawing inspiration from the legends of Indian independence. But, I was left perplexed, how could violence be a solution to the prevailing problems? I didnot have to wait long to realize that there were many who sided my thoughts. It was yet another cinema- Munna Bhai Lage Raho, which ripped through the hearts of even the callous by calling out loud and reminding the whole nation of its binding to Ahimsa, and the Mahatma that had qualified us for freedom from the colonial regime.

An example was set on the screen, people suddenly found themselves to be shaken awake. The Rip Van Winkles have begun to protest against the injustices perpetrated by the corrupt mind. Is the giant Amoeba finally moving? Are we going to witness history re-written? I am gleefully rubbing my thoughts, with warmth that the time has arrived for a change. The process of evolution has begun, and i am sure it will not cease till a new species is born.
